Founded in 2021, Instituto Yandê Itacaré has dedicated four years to deep community engagement, advancing 12 transformative projects in the region. Our actions intertwine social care, environmental stewardship, and cultural appreciation, reaffirming our commitment to achieving meaningful social and ecological impact.
“Yandê” — from the Tupi‑Guarani language — signifies “we.” Our mission is to identify, strengthen and nurture impact-driven initiatives within the community, promoting social inclusion, valuing local culture, and contributing to the development of a more equitable and sustainable society.
As a nonprofit entity of public utility, Yandê was created by The Barracuda Group, which has operated in Itacaré since 2013. With active participation from local partners and the community, the Institute upholds the principles of sustainable development.
Operating as an incubator of impact projects, Yandê scouts for community initiatives, delivers mentorship and structural support, and amplifies the conditions for these initiatives to evolve into sustainable ventures capable of achieving their full transformative potential.
