Through sport, we promote social inclusion and improved school performance for children and young people aged between 8 and 18 in Itacaré.

Surfing in Itacaré is a practice rooted in the local culture and attracts tourists from all over the world due to the quality and constancy of the waves. The sport not only involves physical aspects, but also encourages values such as environmental awareness, respect and discipline.
The Surfing for the Future project, started in 2016 by the Itacaré Surfing Association, benefits children from the public school system, providing surfing lessons, environmental education, tutoring and psycho-pedagogical assistance.
In 2022, with the support of the Yandê Itacaré Institute, the project served 40 children aged 8 to 13, offering two weekly surf lessons, balanced snacks, uniforms and protective equipment.
The boards used were donated by the institute and shared for collective use, reducing the waste of disposable utensils. The activities were carried out in partnership with South to South, a local sportswear company, and supervised by the Yandê Itacaré Institute team.
The Itacaré Canoeing Association was founded in 1999 and has produced several champions over the years. With the support of the TXAI Resort, the association made progress with the Paddling for the Future project and won state support to build its new headquarters, which includes a shed, professional gym and equipment. PINSI has created a line of sports products to generate income and subsidize athletes' participation in competitions.
In 2023, the Yandê Itacaré Institute donated kayaks to encourage the generation of extra income through tourism integrated with canoeing in the Passagem neighborhood, one of the oldest in Itacaré. In this way, the members of the association were able to go on outings with supporters of the sport and raise funds to maintain their activities at the association's headquarters.
The Yandê Itacaré Institute also contributed food so that the cooks could prepare more nutritious meals for the children and young people who attended the canoeing center as amateur athletes.
The project has already benefited more than 100 athletes and represents a potential boost to the culture and micro-economy of the historic Passagem district.
**Athlete Gabriel Porto (19) received support to join the Brazilian canoeing confederation and take part in national and international competitions such as PANAMERICA.
The Lutar para Vencer project arose from Master Rodrigo Vieira's desire to offer inclusion and citizen awareness to vulnerable children and teenagers in the Passagem neighborhood. Jiu-Jitsu practitioners see the practice not just as a sport, but as a philosophy of life that trains both body and mind, with humility being one of the most important principles. In partnership with Verena, the project was submitted to the PINSI call for proposals in 2022.
Discipline, concentration and moral values are the pillars of the project, which aims to keep young people away from crime, teach them how to deal with bullying and improve their behavior at school and with their families.
PINSI has supported the project by supplying equipment and contributing with subscriptions to championships, which are essential for the students' progress. The classes are taught by Master Rodrigo and Master Verena to 20 young people aged between 7 and 16, promoting social inclusion and citizenship through jiu-jitsu.
